THE HERDS INN
Southern charm at its finest
The Herds Inn is a rustic log home situated on our beautiful 62 acre farm. The Herds Inn is filled with so much charm and history, with hand hewn logs from two 1800s tobacco barns that once stood in South Boston, VA, doors, floors, and trim recycled from cypress wood vinegar vats from the National Fruit Apple plant, and a limestone fireplace using stones found right here on Shady Elm Farm. The Herds Inn features a large living room with wood burning fireplace and plenty of comfy seating for the whole family, spacious kitchen with adjoining dining area, and two full bathrooms. The Herds Inn can comfortably accommodate six guests as well as the family pet. Enjoy the breathtaking views from the porch with cattle and goats grazing in the lush green pastures as the sun sets behind the mountains. While staying at The Herds Inn, take a walk around the farm and visit our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, see the peacocks, chickens, and ducks foraging, and watch the cows grazing in the fields. We hope that you can relax, unwind, and recharge here at The Herds Inn at Shady Elm Farm.
